Family

Melissa (wife) -
Besides being a great wife and mom and a big part of making Voyage what it is, my wife Melissa is the creator of the very popular home decorating and homemaking website The Inspired Room. She is a part of the writing team for incourage (a Christian women's online magazine) and a speaker at women's conferences and blogging conferences. She loves the women at Voyage and if you get to know her, I know you'll love her too.

What is the best part about working at Voyage?

Besides getting to teach, the best part of Voyage is the amazing diverse group of people I get to hang out with each week.

Favorite coffee house drink

Hazelnut soy steamer, no whip.

The perfect day (off)

I sleep in. It is sunny. I spend some good time in the word and prayer. Then I go with Melissa to Barnes & Noble with a sci-fi/fantasy book in hand. I sink down in a big comfortable chair with a hot steamer in one hand and my hard bound adventure in the other. We read all afternoon. In the evening I go for an exhilarating bike ride and then I watch a recorded episode (or two or three) from a favorite TV series with my family.

Education

Master of Divinity, Multnomah Biblical Seminary

Bachelor of Arts, Biblical Literature, Multnomah Bible College

Where did you come from anyway?

I'm from Portland, Oregon, but I grew up in the small town of Pendleton, Oregon.

Did you just show up here one day and decide to start Voyage?

Ha. Yeah. Well, No. I went through a long process of interviewing, boot camps, questioning, personality testing and intense torture, I mean, training before Melissa & I were selected to start this church under the guidance of a church planting organization and coach. We believe God brought us here for a reason and we are excited to be on the Voyage!
